A Conversation I Long to Have

Here I write about the hopes I have to one day converse with the wonderous person living inside me.

A mystery lingers in your presence as I change the scene I’m seeing,

This unreal moment tells me so much but leaves me hanging in the unknown.

I wish I could find the wisdom coming from the words you say, breathe the smell that you release all around you, feel the moisture in the hair I touch, and hear the kindness in the words you say.

You are far from me, or maybe you don’t even exist, but I still sit here waiting for you with hope that one day I will meet the person who is the main character inside me.

You and everything around me scream inside me, but somehow when I find you from outside of my soul, I find a land where peace and love wait together for someone as insecure as myself.

They sit their patiently and stroke my hair, calming the rage in me and telling me that this world is only the beginning of happiness.

They tell me that even in fairy tales, happiness only comes at the end of the story.

They tell me that even if I fall, there are ways to get back up, and that overcoming pain is the only way you’ll be able to walk again.

“The road is long, Haneen, but love exists inside you,” whispers Peace and Love.

I want to find you, oh mysterious critter living inside me.

You make me curious about you, and I want you to understand that all I want from you is the wisdom in the words you say, breathe the smell that is exerted from you, feel the moisture in the hair I touch, and hear the kindness in the words you say.

And here I stand waiting for you, endlessly.
